In 2020, I worked at Almanac, a series A business productivity tools startup headquartered in San Francisco, CA.
Role: Growth manager, product management vertical. I spent the majority of my time interviewing product managers to isolate gaps in their documentation and communication strategies.
Team: Multiple other product growth managers, reporting directly to COO
Sourcing Optimization
I worked to eliminate repetitive elements of lead sourcing, which freed up growth manager time to design and run more growth tests. This primarily consisted of creating a lead generation and email-based test pipeline using Airtable, UpWork, Interseller, and Zapier. Using a mostly automated process, growth managers can now enter a new test idea in Airtable and wake up to a fully complete set of leads, allowing them to ship tests much faster.
ITERATIVE Growth testing
I designed and shipped dozens of growth tests, continually iterating based on results of the team’s previous tests. These tests were responsible for 100s of new users and helped significantly expand the team’s knowledge base over the course of the summer.
Vertical Taxonomies
I worked with my team to research, dissect, and organize how target customers in various target verticals collaborate and what key documents they use. We then used these taxonomies as a basis for highly specific growth tests.
